Fees, Policies & FAQ’s

  • Interlude Lactation is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, and Presbyterian Health Plan, including Turquoise Care Plans, and will submit a claim directly to your insurance. Although Interlude Lactation will appeal any cost-sharing (e.g. copay, deductible, coinsurance) applied by your insurance under the Affordable Care Act, we cannot guarantee that your visit will not have cost-sharing applied. You are responsible for verifying your lactation benefits and for providing your insurance information to Interlude Lactation prior to your visit.

  • Payment is due at the time of booking. Self-pay rates are available above and on the online booking page.

After your visit, Interlude Lactation will provide you with a superbill suitable for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. We cannot guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you under the Affordable Care Act.

Learn more about your rights under the Affordable Care Act to access insurance-covered breastfeeding support at the National Women’s Law Center website.

  • Interlude Lactation’s service area for in-home visits is within a 15-mile radius of the “Big I” (intersection of I-25 and I-40) in Albuquerque, NM. Home visits outside of this area are possible, but a travel fee may apply. Contact Ally for more information. Travel fees are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

Virtual visits are available throughout the state of New Mexico.

  • After booking, you’ll get an email inviting you to our Patient Portal to complete an intake form. Please fill it out as much as you’re able — this allows us to get the most out of our time together to address your concerns and work on feeding!

If you’ve booked an in-home visit, please don’t worry about tidying your home or getting out of your pj’s. In-home visits are meant to allow for more rest for you & your baby and for working on infant feeding in your natural environment.
